New Devil may Cry vid
Check this out guys: http://www.gametrailers.com/player/26664.html Great footage huh? I swear this trailer just made me want to play all three devil may cries over again. I can't wait to buy the fourth masterpiece. Johnny Yong Bosch (vash the stampede - trigun, Ichigo - Bleach) Will be voice acting for Nero, the main character of Devil May Cry 4. He'll also be doing the motion capturing for Nero. Bosch is quickly replacing Crispin Freeman (Alucard - Hellsing, Rude - FF7 Advent Children) as my favorite English Voice actor. He puts so much feeling into his work, it's impossible not to like any character he does.

Brannen- 10-19-2007

Wonderful I'm gitty with antisipation. I hope Dante is a key figure in the game cause it would suck if you was like trish in the first game.

spartan1337- 10-19-2007

Dude, not even. Nero's weapons are way cooler than Dante's. And I love revolvers :P

Brannen- 10-19-2007

Booo! Dantes weapon were believable, stuff regular people could use that Dante takes two steps further. Nero's has the Anime curse of if this is cool and that is cool...this and that together is awsome. They don't see that it's just cheesy. And Revolvers? We're not in the wild west. After six shots the other guy still has six.

Night Stalker- 01-27-2008

You think Dante would win against snake, maybe in an open fight. but never if Snake had the element of surprize.

Brannen- 01-28-2008

Perhaps though he would have a tough time getting the jump of Dante. I'm sure he's got mutant hearing or something.

spartan1337- 02-02-2008

Dante's handguns were designed so the triggers could be pulled an insane number of times. like, faster then some machine guns. (if you read the books you would know this) Not very realistic at all. plus, they were freaking huge. bigger then desert eagles xD Capcom just wants to do what they think is cool. They dont care what anyone else thinks, and that fact makes Capcom cool. hell if they didn't think like that, we wouldn't have anything nearly as awesome. I say leave them be, let them have their fun, they're good so far. And I happen to like them, Nero's weapns have more of an old-school feel to me then dante's do. single-edged sword, and a revolver. just spruced up a bit. -While revolvers don't have many obvious advantages, they are the most powerful handguns in the world. -They are also more reliable, -don't jam unless you forget to spin the barrel before slapping it in, and even if you do forget they hardly ever jam, -simple design means an idiot could use one, -with a speed-loader you can reload one as fast as almost any pistol. Although pistols do have a larger mag, extra mags are easier to carry then a couple speed loaders, and they are less bulky, and many pistols are small enough to hide easily. That said, Nero may only have one gun, his Blue Rose revolver, but that means in real life he could switch to his sword much faster then Dante. :P I myself (as you already know, brannen, in paintball) dont see a smaller mag size as a huge disadvantage, but a disadvantage non-the-less. But everyone has their own opinion. And I think revolvers are just plain cool. :D Anyhoo, revolvers are still used often, just not as much as pistols. and nightstalker, if a bullet to the head can't kill dante (as seen in devil may cry 3) then i dont think anything can save snake, hes screwed lol...) BTW Galleon, thanks for posting the vids. haven't seen them in a while, now i can just go here instead of browse for them everytime i wanna see them again.

And nero uses the same rounds so basically dante just has an ammo advantage because he doesn't have to reload as often. But that makes no sense since he never reloads at all, if anything nero's gun will be more authentic if he reloads but nothing more. But nero's gun has a firing speed advantage, pistols can't shoot as fast as revolvers most of the time. Besides dante is more skilled, he's been shooting crap for 3 whole games. And in the end skill matters, also luck.

spartan1337- 02-02-2008

There is no caliber at 13 mm. If there is it's not a commonly used caliber so i doubt that both Nero's and Dante's guns have the same caliber. Do you mean 12.7 mm? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caliber#Metric_vs_Inch And revolvers are usually measured in inches anyways, so i doubt your source is accurate. at any rate Nero has a third power which pushes him to an advantage: His arm's "Devil Bringer" power adds a third element of gameplay (in addition to guns and swords), allowing Nero to grab distant enemies, pull them in to be attacked, push them away, slam them into the ground, as well as allowing him to zoom across areas at certain points. Also, it has context-sensitive uses in certain battles, for example spinning enemies overhead. (quote from wikipedia) Having more skill doesn't necessarily mean victory. Nero seems to have more power in general, so i'd say it's power vs skill, wouldn't you? here's a more detailed list of pistols vs revolvers: Advantages of revolvers * Simpler to use: no removable magazines to insert, no slide to rack, and no safeties to disengage. Revolvers are simply point and shoot. * Easier to cycle to next round in the unlikely event of a failure/blockage: all that is needed is a pull of the trigger, while in semi-autos one must rack the slide, which takes the pistol out of the shooting position. See Tap Rack Bang. * More powerful cartridges available. The largest and most powerful handgun rounds are rimmed rounds for revolvers only. * Revolvers will fire blank ammunition. Semi-autos will not fully cycle with blank cartridges, causing jams. * Spent cartridges are kept in the cylinder whereas a pistol ejects them. This is useful for reloaders and eliminates litter. * Revolvers and speedloaders can be stored loaded indefinitely with no issues. Pistol magazines have springs under tension when loaded. These springs weaken and may fail to load the cartridges effectively if the magazine has been stored loaded for long periods. * Many revolvers will chamber various cartridges. This allows less expensive and/or lower recoil cartridges to be used for practice. Interchangeable cartridges include .22 short/long/long rifle, .357 magnum/.38 special, .44 magnum/.44 special. * Sights are mounted to a fixed barrel, theoretically allowing greater accuracy. * Easier to determine if loaded: bullets in a loaded revolver are readily apparent. An unloaded semi-automatic is often visually identical to a loaded one. Advantages of semi-automatics * Larger ammo capacity: semi-automatics typically carry 7 to 17 rounds; most revolvers carry only 6 rounds, although some carry 7, 8 or even up to 10 in .22 caliber. Some jurisdictions limit the magazine capacity on handguns to 10 rounds, largely negating this advantage in these places. * Faster to reload: magazines are easier to use and more ergonomic to carry than speedloaders. * Flash and noise can be suppressed. (Noise and flash suppressors are ineffective in most revolvers due to noise and flash escaping the gap between the cylinder and the barrel.) * Less expensive ammunition: semi-autos often fire standard military ammunition, which is more readily available and cheaper. * Another important advantage to semi automatics is that they have a significantly slimmer and easier to conceal frame as they do not suffer from the bulge produced by the revolver's cylinder.

Well we are talking about dmc, its not exactly realistic (eg: dante hasn't reloaded EVER). I didn't read all of that yet but I'll do it latter(maybe start a handgun thread instead). As for the nero vs. dante thing, I think that it will be a stalemate in the game(eg: never any conclusion to who's better).

spartan1337- 02-04-2008

I just posted the semi-auto vs revolver list to show that the revolver can actually do stuff that the semi-auto can't, and therefore does not suck as much as Brannen thinks. Dante does reload in the first book though. I cant remember if they describe him reloading in book 2...(book one was set before all the games) And Yush, I guessed as much as well...

Brannen- 02-04-2008

So it would come done to Skill vs power eh, the guns used are unrealistic because they don't have to reload and I doubt they jam. So we might as well be rid of them (out of consideration) because all that is really left is aim. One thing we have left out is Experience, Dante has much more then Nero. He's fought truely skill swordsmen before, Vergil and about every other kind of bad thing ever. I don't know a whole lt about Nero but I would give Dante the edge on Skill and Experience.

galleon- 02-04-2008

Since dmc isn't even close to realistic the gun portion of the dante vs. nero equation doesn't bear much brunt. I know it will come down to sword skills in the end. Brannen, I like the rat and the dino sig the best, the rest are just creepy(wtf for the hittler and sex ones).

Brannen- 02-04-2008

I think dante has the edge on that subjest his father was Sparta. He trained with his brother. (Who was crazy about swords.) And "I like the rat and the dino sig the best, the rest are just creepy(wtf for the hittler and sex ones)" I don't know to what you refer to.
