Slimming down the community
It has come to my attention that our forum is getting a little long. While this is wonderful to me, as the creator of this community, it can get a little tough scrolling through all the forums. List here any forum you think we would be better off without.

I don't think we need handheld general anymore or any of the "general" forum for that matter.

spartan1337- 03-19-2007

gaming general is definitley needed, for perfect examples of why we need it, look in gaming general. i agree with handheld general tho. celebrities and fashion doen't seem to be that popular. perhaps the xbox (1) forum should go, no one cares about it anynore. we still need gamecube and ps2 though... perhaps "forum fun" could be downsized a bit as well. i dont know what to start with there tho.

uhh, well.. I've been to many forums, and most of the forums I have been to, or at least.. the new ones, they all died within 1-3 months because the Forum didn't have a main focus/topic. If it's gonna focus on more than one topic, a bigger staff would be needed to cover the areas. That's just my 2 cents. o.o;;

Night Stalker- 04-07-2007

Makes sense perhaps we could use the member groups to sort of cut back on the forums people see.

spartan1337- 07-05-2007

lets just delete the top ten forums with the least posts. that should keep everything neater. or we could move some topics out of the least popular forums and then delete those forums.

Or instead of deleted all the top 10 unpopular forums, we could just put them all into sub-forums under categories. For the whole main idea our the forum should focus 2 or 3 of the more popular topics. That would be gaming, anime but i'm not sure about the 3rd. I think music.......... not sure. Anyway if you take away the fight club......i'll sue you...that would be bad judgement since it's one the the more popular ones.

i've just deleted all the lounges, and the xbox (old) forum. no one's really touched them, ever. with the general forums, we don't need them. it's really just another set of general forums with a different name. as for the xbox, it's dead, and no games have been made for it in ages.no games have been made ina while for the gamecube, but members of the community still hold an interest in the console. I propse a new idea: combine all the console from a single company into one forum. all sony platforms get a forum, all nintendo platforms, and microsoft platforms get a forum. i'll move all the threads from ps2, ps3, xbox, 360, gamecube, wii, psp and the nintendo handelds into these forums. the oldies forum stays. what do you think?

Brannen- 07-17-2007

Thats pretty good idea converting all the Companies into one Foum Microsoft forum, Sony Forum etc. Though we may have some forums that have so many threads they may not be seen just bacuase they are on a ifferent page. All we really need is some prunning really.

Night Stalker- 07-19-2007

The problem with pruning is we could end up with some pretty empty forums.

lylax- 07-19-2007

WHY WON'T YOU USE SUB-FORUMS!!!!

spartan1337- 07-20-2007

i'm not sure we can. with forumer, we're pretty limited. we asked you all to move to a new forum we had, but noooooo, you wouldn't listen.

Davy- 07-21-2007

Just stuff all the other forums into a "video games" forum.

spartan1337- 07-23-2007

then it would be too cluttered in there. EDIT: I've taken the liberty of cleaning it up further, getting rid of my beloved resident evil forum and moving those threads into general:( I also got rid of fashion and celebrities, two topics that rarely get posts. EDIT: now outdoor sports and indoor sports threads are in sports general. post if you have any more recommendations, we've slimmed it down a fair bit, though i think we could do a little more... The problem with pruning is we could end up with some pretty empty forums. nah, actually the opposite seems to be happening: since we're cutting down the sections, all the threads get redirected to new forums, filling them up a little. the hard part is making sure the those threads stay relavent to the new forums they are in.

You know having to many general forums makes it a little cluttered, people may not know to look in some places but still...
