================================================
Year 2012. Six years passed since the time of the Second catastrophe to
have made the April events of 1986 fade.
The game is set in the Chernobyl exclusion zone which turned from a
destiny-breaker place into a threat to all mankind. The Zone is reluctant
to open up its mysteries and needs to be forced to do it. It is a rare
hero who can reach the very heart of the Zone onto find out what danger
awaits him there.
A danger which, compared to marauders and enemy groupings, all monsters
and anomalies, will seem a mere preparation to the meeting with something
more fatal and threatening.
But for now… get ready, hero. Collect artefacts and trade, grope your path
and keep an eye on the rear, catch roentgens and fight – only make sure you
survive! And then, perhaps, if you are persistent and truly lucky, you will
find out why all this had fallen on you.
Key features:
* Living-and-breathing world: virtual monsters and stalkers migrate
around the Zone, similarly to the player they are preoccupied with
day-to-day things – feeding, fighting, looking for prey, trading,
sleeping, taking rest
* Freedom of movement around the storyline, limited only by the player’s
will and abilities
* The world of post-Soviet environment
* Authentic objectives of the Chernobyl exclusion zone – the power
engineers city of Pripyat, Chernobyl NPP, Chernobyl-2 complex of
over-the-horizon detection and more
* Atmosphere of eerie mystery and constant danger
* Multiple game endings
* System of weather effects and dynamic day & night shift
* Photo-realistic graphics, adding to the game atmosphere immersion
* Realistic ballistics, extensive arsenal of real weapon prototypes
* Unique multiplayer modes implemented within the game entourage –
artefacts collection, anomalies, radiation, weather effects, day &
night change etc
* Extensive map editor possibilities for multiplayer gaming

Saw that in a local game shop, looked cool. Thought it was for the 360, but I can't install games onto my computer. Oh well.

looks like they ripped off F.E.A.R. with the name. it's supposed to be a decent game tho.

-Shall dig this up.-
Where do you think my name and everything else is based off of? :3
I'm getting this as soon as I get $30.. >.> I couldn't get it before 'cause I didn't have the right Video card.

I have heard good things about the game. Too bad I'm not the biggest PC gamer. Still from what I have read I may have to change that.

Indeed, GameInformer gave it an 8.25, which is 1 and a half under the highest score possible.
I have the soundtrack, if you want it.

Is it any good? Well you would think so but what is it like?

It's got 3 songs by a Ukrainian metal band, only one has lyrics though but the singer has such a heavy Ukrainian accent you can't tell what she's saying. xD I first thought she was singing in Ukrainian until I looked up the lyrics.
As for the rest of the soundtrack, it's really creepy monotone music, stuff you would find in any scary video game. Creepy monotone music.... I personally like "Cold/Freezing Out" and "S.A.D." but I guess you can make your own ideas.

Monotone music is not really my first choice but...

Neither is it mine. xD
I just thought it would be a creepy idea for an already (somewhat) creepy game. GSC Game World did really well with the OST.
spartan1337- 09-28-2007
hmm, sounds like an idea and a half. i'd like to hear said freaky music...
Brannen- 09-29-2007
I'd like to hear it to but I doubt I could keep listening to it. Who know could be good for my book. Give us the link or whatever and we'll see.
Night Stalker- 09-30-2007
I'm not a fan of creepy music I'll pass.
Brannen- 09-30-2007
Well that's your choice.
Night Stalker- 10-04-2007
Yes, Yes it is.
